The announcement did state that the appointment would be effective from 11 April 2011.
It also stated "his previous positions include Chairman and Managing Director of iron ore producer BrazIron and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of gold explorer Carbine Resources Limited........" As they referred to "previous" and not "current", I expect he has or will resign his current position.
The RM Capital website does indicate that he is currently an Analyst but I wonder whether it has been updated recently as there is no reference to his position at BrazIron.

IMO he appears well credentialed for the role at ALY. IMO lack of commercial acumen at CEO level has been the prime reason for the significant fall in SP.
