At the end of your linked article there's the statement..."don't fight fire with fire". Made me think of backfires used in the US to fight forest fires. Build a small fire and let it burn the path ahead of the forest fire...like right. The thinking is use the fuel you can control to stop the fuel you can't. Here' why it might work on a bad-a** biker but not on watermelons.
