For what it's worth, Rene Rivkin used to say, "Don't try to catch a falling knife." Boy, have I been cut a few times while ignoring that advice. I guess by extrapolation, one may perhaps benefit, though, by picking it up after it has settled on the floor. Oh, for a crystal ball!
