There is a huge amount of money being invested in battery research and it is naive to think that the current status quo on affordability of performance of batteries is going to remain.
There will be huge disruptions of current technologies caused by advances in batteries, EV's, solar power and driverless cars in the next 10 years.
By the way smart phones are only ten years old and they are already old technology.
