What I dont get is that if blockchain is such a great thing at locking in irrefutable contracts and the oft mooted 'chain of ownership', how come so many billions of dollars of blockchained assets have been stolen and lost and yet the owners are unable to get their assets back.   I guess that is what you get when a group of cyber punks and anarchists found a new financial sector.

If the whole world worked like that, then of you found a credit card or a title deed for a house or the keys for a car in the street, then that would immediately become yours. If our society heads in this direction it will be total chaos as things stand.

Where is the financial regulation? The ombudsman? The oversight?   Non existent.
Hence every two bit scammer is flocking to the sector.
