Are there any reports on the 'MAJOR' earthquake on newspapers or TV in NSW? Are there any damages or loss of life? I have not any in QLD.
Be aware that sub-3 degree earthquakes (or seismic events) occurs 1,000,000 times a year, but they do no damage apart from a spike on the monitoring paper. A quake between 3 and 5 often felt, but only causes minor damage. If there was no media reporting, the quake might not be even in this 'felt' band, never mind above 5. The mine structure should have a design level for seismic resistance.
This is at least the second time that Cadia has a 'major seismic event'. Are there any negligence or faults in the design?
