Agree and I would bet that just putting a lithium battery in the Optus "fixed broadband" modem would allow it to be sold as a "mobile broadband" modem. Telstra does want to build a symbiotic relationship with NBN and maybe this move by Optus will hobble NBN in order for it to fall into TLS lap later on but the risk is that Optus gets a big march on Telstra in the provision of fixed wireless. This is a big risk if you ask me because in the longer term fixed wireless is going to kill the economics of FTTH just like landlines.
