My concern is not so much the damage that can be inflicted by an "idiot". My concern is more the damage that can be inflicted by the smart, aggressive, ambitious, manager who thinks he has all the answers, but happens not to be quite as smart as he thinks he is.

C'mon MarsC, there a numerous businesses that are badly run at some stage of their lives but which survive it, and recover. Sure, they suffer temporary losses from mismanagement or poor capital allocation, but they live on to fight another day.
