Yes, it's a debate that will never, I'm sure, be settled. I don't want to turn this into a moral or ideological issue. Ultimately, for me, almost everything has its price.
My concern is not so much the damage that can be inflicted by an "idiot". My concern is more the damage that can be inflicted by the smart, aggressive, ambitious, manager who thinks he has all the answers, but happens not to be quite as smart as he thinks he is. I'm not sure there's a moat in the world than can withstand that.
