I find your optimism about this quite amusing. Ms Engel has all the credibility of every failed politician. Nobody is saying "Look how clever she is" because the majority of poeple have no idea this letter even exists.

Quite the opposite in fact. Most people are pointing out how stupid Claire Perry was to appoint somebody so tarnished to such an important PR role. Engel simply can't do the job she's been given with her history, so Perry looks incompetent for not having realised that.

The sad thing is that there IS a sensible discussion that needs to be had around the risks and dangers of induced sesimicity, but when even the shale gas commissioner deliberately diverts from it we can all see that government isn't interested in the facts of the matter - just pushing an agenda. It's a shame really but hardly unexpected.
