The locals have been camped at the Bawdwin mine site (the village is effectively an extension of the mine) for decades. Many are on retainer, a modest stipend to keep them available for BJV. Some have previously worked for Bawdwin in early incarnations. I heard nothing but anticipation while i was there.
Activities like computer donations to the local primary school can't hurt either. Will post picture later.
