How about another option, the mine grade is no where near what the claim grade is from the geology department. In other words the production guys are overestimating the grade and when it isn't there it's put down as "missing ounces" when in fact it may never have been there in the first place.
No drilling means they have no idea what the grade is to start with.
And I know there is no drilling!
