These are exciting times for QNA. The company finally has the cash it needs to progress on its expansion of DMCA in Australia and Marketboomer in Asia.
Here are my thoughts on the company as a whole. I am interested in hearing the opinions of others as it has been a while since there has been any discussion on QNA:
Positives: - Collaborative consumption is infancy in Australia, but the concept is much more widely accepted in Europe. This demonstartes that the concept works if executed well and consumer and lender trust is gained. - The latest presentation mentioned that once fully developed, the system is easily scalable and can be used in other collaborative consumption markets - The presentation mentions past capital constraints. With the $1m fund raising, QNA will execute a better funded push. - The company was operating cash flow positive last quarter. This demonstrates that Marketboomer is gaining some traction in the hospitality space. They also mention that the majority of the labour intensive process of migrating customers to the lastest product is largely over.
Negatives - While the presentation is good at showing the potential market size and how the company will operate, what I really want to see is customer growth. I know they have recently entered Victoria and Queensland. Can they show that these markets have responded well to DMCA? Are they still gaining users in the original market (NSW). Are new customers continuing to use the service for a second time? - The fact that the share price is so low (hovering between 0.2 and 0.3c for the last few months) means that there is a large buy sell gap to bridge ech time a transaction is made. This has made the stock illiquid despite there usually being several buyers at 0.2c and several sellers at 0.3c. Maybe a share consolidation would be a good idea to increase the liquidity. - AirBnB has already got a foothold in Australia. While this means that further down the track I will be more difficult for QNA to enter the accommodation market, its growth will allow the Australian market to become more accustomed to the idea of collaborative consumption, which should lead to more people trying DMCA.
