I am a Costco member and shop there once every 6 weeks or so. My general impression is that Costco sell goods at the upper end of quality spectrum, but at si,i;ar prices that Coles and Woolies charge for far lesser quality. I don't quite get the Costco model. The store had diamond rings for $500,000 beside the $19 sunnies and $27 Nautica polos. Problem was they only come in a 3 pack....

I do not see Costco as a present threat to Woolies, simply because they do not have the store numbers to take much market share from them.

Aldi is a whole other story. We now do our core grocery and house goods shopping at Aldi. They are significantly lower cost (10-30%) for comparable quality than Coles or Woolies.

IMO, Aldi is going to monster the weakest of the chains, ie Woolies......

I wish Aldi was a listed company.

I sold my entire WOW holding over a year ago (tick below $30.00) after seeing where Aldi was going with their business model in Australia. Thx Aldi.........
