My Broker Just Asked Me to Decide on CERCG's Offer!

Okay, this is getting officially strange now. I am in the US and checking email today I saw notices from my broker to accept a takeover offer for AWE. Fine, I thought I am going to accept the offer and called them. It wasn't the Mitsui offer! CERCG somehow got its offer inserted into my broker's deal flow and the broker was presenting CERCG's offer as the takeover offer!

Talk about confusing. I rejected the offer and showed the broker the Australian government's decree forbidding CERCG from sending out its offer.

So now we know why AWE took this unusual move, and why the government of Australia put out that unusual decree. Even though CERCG's offer was rejected, CERCG is somehow gettings its offer presented to shareholders, some of whom will probably make a mistake. Be careful!
