Its just a market, not so much different to any market, sellers put doubtful fruit at the front, new used-by-dates way at the back, old dates within easy reach for the lazy, they may stick produce labels over imperfections and all sorts of trickery, markets have been tricking players for centuries.

Fortunately most/some humans are endowed with a fair bit of scepticism and common sense, allowing for careful selection of value, a nice crisp Granny Smith, rather than a dodgy banana then getting home lamenting how a regulator or store manager can allow such things, without ever a serious thought about who selected and paid for the item.

We are indeed masters of our own destiny, if I were to give the odd tip to a youngster on markets, it would be that - Your own actions are gargantuan in the scheme of things, do not spend too much time complaining about market manipulation, tricksters are just a part of the wonderful fabric of free markets, always great buying always exists for the studious.
