If one is fat and rich, it seems that one is incapable of having a valid opinion on anything. What Gina Rinehart opined in the article in the Australian on 29/07/2014 makes sense. If Jim Beyer of Mount Gibson Iron voiced the same opinion, most readers would on reading the material nod their heads approvingly. The politics of envy runs strongly amongst regular Hot Copper posters, so we get the usual ad hominem attacks from the same few posters. One should not blame Lang Hancock for pegging mining claims, and pursuing the formalities required by law to gain a valuable right that has translated to family wealth – rather, blame you own dad for not doing so too. As for royalties, like the process of applying for mining tenements, Lang and Gina did not dictate what the royalties should be, the royalties applicable were set by the elected representatives of the State of WA, who own the minerals.

Read the article, and then criticise aspects of it contents, rather than indulge in hate-filled ad hominem attacks. Better still, rather than single out bits for criticism, methodically list the major points and follow each with an “agree” or “disagree”, with such additional comment as you think is required.

I notice that by simply Googling “Gina Rinehart” I located and could read that article, but on copying the link and pasting it (see below), I could not access it, because it required logging into ABC News.
