As to the questions you posed. Im am not an expert on SL vein graphite, so anything I say about it is looking from a broader viewpoint. Price will determine if SL vein will be used in batteries.

Is SL Vein the best suited for the Battery Market?
From the research I've done on this id say it might not be best suited for the battery market. I would think that with the amount of up and coming junior flakers fighting to get into production, there will be more than enough cheap, good quality flake to supply the battery market. I believe there is high potential for an oversupply of battery grade graphite, and that will cause downward pressure on the price. Companies with the cheapest costs will be successful.

It just seems counter productive to me to flake vein graphite for batteries, when there will be plenty of high grade flake available. However if it is cost effective it may happen, though I doubt for a premium price.

If we are talking about silicon anode batteries that is a different story. Silicon has a low discharge potential and a high theoretical charge capacity, ten times higher than that of typical graphite anodes currently used in industry. The problem is that they swell by up to 400% during charging and degrade the silicon anode, severely decreasing the battery life. Check out this article. If this is the way future battery anodes are made then MRF, and SL vein, will be an ideal candidate for the new wave of batteries.

I would speculate that MRF would be better using the vein graphite to create graphene with the one step process, and supply to the growing graphene market. To get a foot in the door as a supplier now would be a major advantage and put MRF in a position to ramp up with the growth of the graphene industry.

Is an Off-Take agreement coming with MRL Corporation and a Battery Manufacturer?
I'd like to see MRF get an offtake agreement with a major tyre manufacturer, or some other graphene related product. If MRF start small and grow with the market/demand I can see them doing very well in the long term. As they make money invest back into the company and expand. As I've mentioned before, I believe there is a lot of potential growth for graphene and a slow and steady approach would work well in the long term.

Is Tesla coming to Sri Lanka?
I doubt it. Tesla have stated that they want to use graphite sourced in North America. They won't be the only battery producer so I don’t think any graphite company should be concerned, or worried about who Tesla gets their graphite from. China will be needing a lot of battery grade graphite as will Europe. Tesla are the first movers, but by no means the only movers.

The Announcement
I see the HOA with IMAGINE as a big step in the right direction. I am critical of MRL Corporation management, or more so their lack of communication, but I believe that they have the right idea and are propelling the company in the right direction. The market didn't react to the announcement, but I believe it is a massive milestone for the company and the share price just got a lot more attractive. I'll be watching closely.

It is interesting and even though MRL Corporation's focus on Batteries is the main topic here I think Batteries in General Apply to Flakers as well as Veiners.

I hope this research is broadly taken in not just MRL Corporation specific so I appreciate your thoughts and opinions.

China is looking to dominate cars with their Graphene developments and Tyre's are definitely at the top of the list

I definitely agree with many points here. The main area I disagree is the unsuitability of SL Vein and Batteries...

In fact all the testing says it does fit the bill as far as I understand it -

I thought the Properties of SL Vein made it ideal for Batteries?
