Chuck, What you are saying about MPSAS is correct. There were a flurry of approvals in the middle of last year but none since then. Atienza remains well placed in the government as an Arroya loyalist. Atienza remains firmly committed to mining development in the Phillipines. Interestingly he has a close relationship with the Roman Catholic Church because of his staunch and activist anti-abortion position. This should help him where at times in the past sections of the church have been opposed to mining. In reply to pjvan I do not pretend to be a lawyer but with respect to Oceanagold's problems could'nt the same occur here? ie a resident group asking for a temporary restraining order to stop a development?
