I think coke has lost its cool. The issue is more than just sugar as alternatives such as ice teas, fruit juice and less generic csd gaining market share with just the same amount of sugar. Ccl needs to move quickly with the market which wants to consume more interesting and less generic coke fanta etc. They want and will pay even more for grapefruit with orange and ginger etc. with the illusion of it coming from a small bottler from a local town etc. Exactly the same issue with generic versus craft beers. The problem is Coca Cola US wants to sell their coke syrup and will have less interest in supporting its subsidiary diversifying too much.
Having said that CCL is diversifying but maybe not at he pace it should with most marketing still focused on coke.
