Hi striebs, you make some pertinent points regarding the risk and cost of deep wells at Madden. These were previously put to BL and he addressed them as follows.

The deep wells are incredibly prolific, only 8 producers into the deep Madden with one well producing over 250BCF and still going strong..... the current reserve of 1.75 TCF is proved developed so no new wells are needed to produce it, indeed they are projected to flow past 2060 . The current JV does not propose any deep drilling unless the gas price increases significantly. The significant behind pipe resources will be accessed through recompletions of existing wells which are mostly in the shallower formations.
