This does sound like very good news - if not market sensitive, then certainly PR worthy and should result in big revenue over time - the Stem Cell industry is the no.1 growth area of medical research and the animal industry is far more open-ended as far as what is possible.

Butler Schein Animal Health will be distributing the Adipose kits in the US. "They are the leading U.S. companion animal health distribution company. Headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, the company operates through 18 distribution centers and 12 telecenters. Approximately 900 Butler Schein Animal Health team members, including 300 field sales representatives and 200 telesales and customer support representatives, serve animal health customers in all 50 states."

There is just one thing I cannot wrap my head around - depending upon the product and the country, Medical Australia is either the manufacturer, or distributor, or both.

In July 2010, MLA announced that global vet distributor MediVet would be its global distributor for all of its animal healthcare products - MLA would supply all hardware and disposables for Medivet's Adipose Stem Cell kit.

Then, in July 2011, MLA announced it had become the sole distributor for MediVet’s products in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. So MLA effectively began distributing the Adipose Stem Cell system in the UK and presumably this effectively meant that it would also be distributing its own hardware and disposables that Medivet originally agreed to distribute. Mark Donnison confirmed with his statement "Given MLA is MediVet’s OEM partner, we are well placed to control the entire supply chain for these new markets, from manufacturing through to sales and distribution. Off the back of our success in these markets, we expect to secure additional territories to expand our exclusive distributor status."

Now in Feb 2012, we have the announcement by MediVet-America that the largest US distributor pf Vet companion products will be distributing the Adipose procedure and the kits (manufactured by MLA) in the US.

Perhaps this US announcement is indicative of the fact that Butler Schein is the biggest player in the US in this market.

It all sounds great and should boil down to great revenue. As I mentioned though, its just that every time I think I have MLA worked out, they confuse me with their flip flop of either manufacturer or distributor or both, depending on where they are - sort of reminds me of that old riddle:

Brothers and sisters, I have none, but this man's father is my father's son.

Or, even moreso of the song, I'm my own Grandpa
