There was delightful film footage on Channel 9 news tonight of Mollie the beagle and her adopted new friend the possum.
Mollie was distraught when she lost her litter of pups but found a possum who also needed a friend.
Mollie can be seen under a tree in the back garden housing the possum nest.
Although normally nocturnal the possum now comes down to ride on Mollies back during the day and both are happy and welcome contact with their human friends.
She was shown also with the possum on her tummy.
A lovely feel good story of an adoption under sad circumstances and I would expect that this footage will be shown world
wide. It is unique.
I would have no idea how to post the footage itself, nor do I know that it would even be possible to do so.
Maybe someone a whole lot smarter than me would be able to post the footage for all to see.
Would highly recommend it as an animal lover.
