There are several chat rooms for AIM stocks but if it's the one I think you mean then I would agree that it's in a sorry state. The good thing about HC is that you have to state your interest in the stocks as in whether you hold or not. Sure, that is open to abuse, but in the UK rooms you really don't know who is holding what and just what agenda the posters have. So we end up with posters with a personal grievance against the companies, paid stock bashers, folk trying to get the price down by any means by spreading lies so they can get a cheaper entry, rampers trying to talk the price up so they can exit, sociopaths etc, while the less frequent intelligent factual post gets lost in all the personal abuse.
The one I think you're referring too is LSE chat room. I'm just glad they don't cover MOD.
I've seen a few very good posters on LSE though, e.g. Timeless, Stephen Pearce, Greets, Just Stayin', Reacher etc.
I'm in a private chat group of about 75 investors and the knowledge/discussion level is top class. Each to their own.
HC is quieter but has some savvy posters so it's good to come here to get a broad range of views without the abuse. The moderators seem on the ball too.
