Your guess re Prime is a good one.
I remember when the BYI takeover first became a possibility, thinking what a good fit BYI would be for Prime, and was expecting them to buy more DES scrip (as new issue) for at least a part funding of the BYI purchase. And yes, although I'd not forgotten their stake in DES, I had forgotten their unique opportunity to 'assist' in the BYI purchase.
