One aspect of charting @MaxAction includes an appreciation of price volatility, support and resistance amongst many other parameters, that's one of the things a chartist will look for with the aim of trading to make a profit. Price stability is of little consequence esp. where an instrument isn't paying dividends and where a sp is in relation to a 250 ema is of no consequence whatsoever in that scenario.. stability is not what fund managers in small caps are looking for. Check out the performance of Macquarie's small cap. fund, there isn't many of those participants trading above many long term averages yet the return is above 20% last year.
I can guarantee you that it's chartists in conjunction with FA research that gets those returns - if you want to push your poor opinion of MNS then there is a thread available for sensible discussion,..........It's better if you go there and leave charting to posters who understand it.
