So just reading through some of the responses, a lot of municipalities respond that they are in favour of a ban on uranium mining without really articulating their position. There have been some good submissions though that have concern with the proposals outlined by the EPA.

Aura's response is well constructed and logical. They mentioned their Haggan assets as verified by two independent bodies as economically significant. They have also reasoned that they hold exploration permits and that an amendment to the legislation should not apply retrospectively to current mine/exploration holders. They reason that the extraction of uranium should have no greater health risk than the mining of other minerals.

On the surface its a worry, because the municipalties/districts have quite a lot of power already when it comes to mining approvals. However, there's some concessions there that give me hope. Also, you could reason that with climate targets, Sweden being nuclear and the Northvolt battery plant, its discouragement of mining is unreasonable.

What I do find unusual is that the govt body for mining does not seem to be greatly involved - a t least on the surface.
