Uranium mining is the part of the nuclear fuel cycle that affects the environment most. Like all mining, you get local environmental effects. Uranium mining are no different than the risks identified in other types of non-radiation-related mining activities, such as Swedish iron ore mines. Mining of polymetallic minerals in Häggån can even lead to less dangerous environmental and health effects, than the current mining of high arsenic sulfide ores, in our mineral rich Skellefteå field.
With the low uranium content of 155 ppm (0.0155%) of uranium per ton in Häggån means, that mining can be done in the same way as in all other types of mines.
