The million shares was more than one parcel of shares/sell order.  So when a buyer purchases a huge chunk of stock it's broken into the parts from the different sellers ie one seller might hold 500k and the other 500k is a someone else.  One way to tell on comsec is to look at the time.  If the shares are traded at say 10:18am multiple times this is often the same buyer especially on small caps. Harder to tell on say a heavily traded stock like ANZ with multiple trades at once. Chi-x is a similar trading venue to ASX.  Sometimes comsec orders go through that platform. Same kind of think as ASX. Hope that helps
