In Sweden's bedrock there are some of the world's largest assets of energy metals.
The Swedish uranium is mainly found in black scales, a sedimentary rock rich in organic matter. It is estimated that there may be around 2.5 million metric tonnes of uranium in Sweden, which makes the occurrences of some of the world's largest. There are also an estimated 50 000 metric tonnes of thorium, in the Swedish bedrocks.
