Mirvac Group and JB Hi-Fi Ltd. plunged in Sydney trading today after saying profit rose to records, because the companies failed to reassure shareholders they can maintain earnings growth amid a global stock rout and rising local interest rates.
``In the current market, if there's a sniff of disappointment the stock will be hit,'' said Paul Xiradis, who helps manage the equivalent of $11 billion at Ausbil Dexia in Sydney.
