I think Taow's been pretty straight here, and the ann's the first message in the appropriate thread, so pretty easy to spot.
My research indicates that misterjoy is a former business associate of David W's. So why has MJ suddenly appeared? Sounds like there is one source here. Though there may be some issues with funding (what startup doesn't?), is it with Thred or the other entity associated with David W? It is hard to tell from the evidence (see Jens' tweet).
My key question is "how much dev has been done and what is PRA getting for its money?" I get the feeling it is more rather than less, and any half-decent dev team could get it to market if there are issues.
Lastly, even with all of the above, look at the compensation flowing to Thredit (David W and mates) in the PRA transaction. This will all be worthless if the PRA share price tanks. So, the motivation for Ananda, David, David's mates, developers etc to make this fly is enormous, and the pressure is now on. If there has been anyone's hands in the till, I'd suggest they would soon be made nutless by the mass of other people relying on this gig if this goes pear shaped.
So.
There might be stuff going on, but my call is that this will go through. And it will be huge. It might take a some/a lot of the CR funds to finish/polish the app, but it will be a success.
You might just need a strong stomach to last the distance.
Make up your own mind, but don't criticise others for doing so.
