Melbournes myki smartcard transport ticket is alsod delayed 2 years. Note this is NOT an ERG project.
They also claim "there is problems with the software".
I don't believe it. The software is NOT THAT DIFFICULT.
I think both ERG ( and their failed sydney project in particular ) and myki have problems with the reliability of actually detecting the cards in crowds of people at hundreds of different locations. Its basically a hardware issue. I don't think it is the software at all, I think they are both lying.
Anyway thats my opinion.
