thanks for the response ....sure beats posting to myself. I had a look for some papers/research on the "gambling in tough times" thought, but difficut to find anything of credibility. Did come across a report that suggests Australians embrace new technology. Tie that up with the favourite pasttime of gambling and the viability of this is sound. I know that NZ has a system through Skybet and the UK has similar. Seems they are big on the sportsbetting which this will eventually include. I am with you, i think that NSW will surprise and that they will level up soon. There is a big battle being fought on access to state markets by big gambling houses (particularly based in the NT) who are taking revenues from TAB in each state. No problem with that in a 'free' market, however, i have some concerns for the racing industry across all states as they are heavily dependent on TAB as a revenue source. Gambling houses give noting back to the racing industry.
I also see an announcement on Unitab soon, and believe you will be sportsbetting on the football in coming seasons (maybe next)
