Israeli Cleantech Companies Head to U.S. for Investment Roadshow By: Mickey Chesla, Blog Manager
Crossing the chasm from technological development to commercial implementation is a major challenge, especially in the complex energy and water industries.
Israel’s government has recognized this and a delegation of Israeli cleantech companies are headed to the U.S. for a roadshow of meetings with investors. The roadshow was arranged as a cooperation between the Israeli Chief Scientist Office in the Ministry Energy and Water Resources, the Ministry of Economy and BIRD Energy of the BIRD Foundation.
“We identified that obtaining financing is the most significant challenge facing Israeli cleantech companies, “ said Oded Distel, head of Israel NewTech, the government program for the advancement of Israel’s cleantech industry in the Ministry of Economy. “I’m glad that everyone came together to put together this delegation and roadshow.”
The delegation will include 15 Israeli cleantech companies who are in the *advanced stages of product development and commercialization. The solutions they present address some of the world’s biggest challenges in the arena of energy and water, such as energy storage, smart management of electricity networks, production of oil and gas from unconventional sources and more.
The delegation includes a number of companies that have received support from the Chief Scientist Office in the Ministry of National Infrastructures, Energy and Water Resources, as well as from the Chief Scientist in the Ministry of Economy, and which research projects yielded strong results, including Hydrospin Monitoring Solutions, **NewCo2Fuels, G.P.M. and Greenlet.
The roadshow will include participation in leading investment conference the Cleantech Forum in March in San Francisco, and a meeting with investors in Chicago.
*The companies are planned to meet with a variety of investors, potential strategic partners and potential customers, in order to raise awareness to the companies and technologies amongst the relevant players in the U.S. market.
Israel’s economic attaches in San Francisco and Chicago, as well as a representative of BIRD Energy on the West Coast are leading the organization of the roadshow.
