As far as I can tell there is only one main difference between this trial and the Alkimos Beach trial.
The Alkimos Beach trial was for new homes built in a new estate.
The Meadow Springs trial will involve established homes that already have solar pv installed. This should attract home owners that prefer not to have battery storage in their own residence but would prefer to share a community battery that services the neighbourhood.
If this trial is successful, it would probably be the model that Western Power would offer to other communities on their grid.
