Hi @Sabbath, apologies for the delay, but index funds don't need to buy anything if the price moves. They tend to follow "full replication" strategy so that index fund remains holding the correct number of shares. If there is a change in the share count or free float, such as a placement, rights issue or buy back, then the index share count changes and the index manager is obliged to rebalance.
