Rather than propose to wind up the fund, I would suggest an EGM to sack the entire board and replace with one which will act in shareholders interests.
Have new management commit to not issue more share (other than by a DRP perhaps).
Have the new management terminate the current management contract when it expires (in a few years still).
They could return funds to shareholders in a slow controlled manner which would not destroy value in the same way as a quick fire sale.
