Terry D, Good post. Thanks. I have been studying Shale Gas thoroughly. OK, I am a bit biased holding almost entirely CSG stocks. Shale costs are coming down but it is still expensive, their depletion rates are about 60% year 1 and the contamination issues have only been recognised by New York State....so far... The USA's conventional gas is declining and this Shale Gas is a welcome saviour but it isn't going to change the world's shortage of energy.
I just love the way British Gas love CSG calling the Gladstone LNG project the " Jewel in Their Crown". BG have big interest in Shale Gas but it is the Aussie CSG that really grabs their attention.
RNF 's explanation was fascinating. Far out. All I do is take the value of the latest transactions ( eg. Fortune and AJlucas ) and apply it to the companies I hold.
For example, VPE has 20-30% interest in two very gassy ideally located permits. British Gas owns the majority 70-80%.
If VPE sold out to similar Asian interests that bought out AJLucas's 15% permit then on a same value basis VPE would be offered $1.00 per share.
Imagine if the same sort of thing happened to BOW or AOE.
