I have recently put some money in 3DP who are following a similar approach to NEA. They do have common nearmap management.
However the Customer base are different. While LIDAR can be used in aerial capture it is generally used to map assets in 3D for asset management. In the case of 3DP they have capture another need in a relatively new sector. LIDAR is taking off.
BTW 3DP only store and manage delivery of LIDAR point cloud data for customers. They do not capture.
These capabilities serve different use cases and while there are some overlap I don’t think enough to threaten what Nearmap offer.
