Then there is the collisions with micro-meteorites. Let's hope the rubber air lock seals can last the distance. How many tons of food do they need, each? Then they will need to split CO2 to get O2 and tons of useless C.
The sap's bones will take such a pounding from high energy particles that they may need wheelchairs to get around on Mars. By the time they get back to earth their skeletons may snap on re-entry.
Going to the moon was always about missile research. Today's guys just need positive image projections given their rip offs. Politicians want to be photographed with these guys. That means subsidies for Musk and job destruction for Bezos.
