Manganese prices surge by another 13%, page-51

US imports of high-carbon ferromanganese up 75%
The US imported 144,391 mt of high-carbon ferromanganese in the first half of 2018 vs. 82,803 mt in the same 2017 period, almost a 75% increase. Imports in June 2018 were 18,653 mt vs. 20,713 mt in June 2017.
The major importers in the first half of 2018 (same 2017 period in parentheses) were: Australia, 33,826 mt (29,400 mt); Malaysia, 33,569 mt (6,076 mt); South Africa, 24,234 mt (35,741 mt); Spain, 18,707 mt (2,900 mt); and Russia, 13,907 mt (3,968 mt).
In June 2018, the largest suppliers were: Malaysia, 6,867 mt; Russia, 4,392 mt; and South Africa, 6,598 mt.
