I've been pissed off for the past two years about this company's crazy attempt to make shoes in America with wages all in at probably $9 hour in the USA compared to making them in China for $1 per hour.
Americans will pay a "little" bit more for something made in their country as it is thought to be probably better quality than the cheap throwaway crap from China.
But today this is a much bigger issue with loss of factories in the USA and Trump just might slap import tarriffs on imported shoes. As far as I know the only company with capacity to produce and expand production of workboots for the American middle class is MHI. Could be very big.
Trumps needs to tour the FIT factory!
Gotta thank Loretta Lee for risking so much for getting this factory off the ground. It was a very big gamble; seemed crazy and Sears made it tougher too. Very wise and insightful. Happy that we have that factory there in Tennessee today.
