Last time I looked there was very little to go on, e.g., soil sampling, drilling.
If the old timers didn't find anything there you'll wanna know why they didn't. Normally it's because there's nothing there or it's under cover, e.g. alluvial floodplains which can be very thick.
Normally if there's a lot of outcrop and the old timers didn't find anything chances are nobody else will find anything.
