Perhaps we should ask BHP, RIO , FMG and particularly Madam Reinhart & Twiggy, to pay off some of Australia's debt. They have all pocketed $Billions (Madam Reinhart is the richest woman in the world) due to our slack
Iron Ore royalyies' regime. Up to recently it was about 4% and even though the rate is now 7%, it should be at least twice that. So why not ask them to do a Bill Gates or Warren Buffett and give back some of this money. Our
current interest bill on debt is almost $20 billion/year ( and that's without State and Municipal debt which almost
doubles that)
Why does any individual like Ms Reinhart need $20 Billion? Surely a few million a year can keep a person
like Ms Reinhart comfortably and that's only 2% income from $100 million.
2% income on $20 Billion is a massive $400 million/year.
