Hi MM,

LOL, we are too which is why we run mathematical quant models to guide our decision making.

If you see me using TA or referring to it on any of the analysis posts that I make it is to highlight what I believe much of the TA crowd will be watching as areas of interest.

We are often able to use this knowledge to gain a leg up as stops are often easily identifiable once these areas are known making near term profit taking targets more effective.

Quant analysis always front runs lagging techs as it is quants in larger IBs and HFs that are generating the numbers so traders can plan their allocations.

It's only once they start allocating or ditributing that things move meaningfully enough for TA to pick it up and it makes the TA crowd regularly miss their first 20-30% of a move (the best bit that is actually back towards historial averages rather than away from them :) )

This is just my opinion though and a logic set that we use to narrow our target areas at times, especially when trend strength is yet to be proven.
