There are three main options for transporting the coal from Benga/Moatize to the coast: 1. Railroad to the port of Beira(ready) 2. Transportation by river(Zambezi) barges to the coast(under consideration) 3. Railroad to the important port of Nacala(North of Mozambique), via Malawi. It would require the construction of a new railroad link of not more than 100 miles between the coalfields in Mozambique and the Malawi Railways (under consideration) Considering the huge size of the Mozambique coalfields, I believe that the three options would have to be operational in order to move smoothly all that coal to the coast. I urge you to look at a map of Austral Africa for a better understanding of this coal transportation issue.
