Was up in Hong Kong last week and took a day trip to Macau. I was there also in 2010 when only the Venetian was open on the Cotai Strip. Got there at 11am on a Monday and there was quite a bit of gaming going on. The Venetian especially was quite busy. City of Dreams not so much but Crown's new casino Studio City was quite busy. It is a very, very impressive building and looks as though they have spared no expense. I could imagine the casinos get busier of a night time and also as the weekend rolls in. There was also quite a bit of development going on and a couple of new casinos being built. Having seen the place a couple of times now and knowing that there are only 6 licences issued then I cannot help but think that this place should be going off a few years from now after the visa restrictions and corruption crackdowns have run there course (teething issues IMO). Macau is built at the doorstep of the most populous nation on earth who love to gamble.................how could you lose?
