Lol, the laundromat has added a new bunch of spin dryers.
Lynas has been producing a HRE carbonate for SIX years capable of broadly 100tpa DyO & 20tpa TbO, pretty much sufficient to meet all ROW demand, which is virtually Japan, Lynas primary customer. However a combination of low demand & low prices has resulted in them largely stockpiling this material for the past 3 years or so.
Further, the recent mining campaign at Mt weld cut into the Duncan deposit, THE richest known hard rock HRE deposit on the planet. Due to the fact this xenotime ore, rich in HRE, is uneconomic currently it is being stockpiled rather than processed any further.
Travelling ATM without access to my data files but very clearly Chinese mag makers have progressed DyO deletion well up into the high grade NdFeB around the 180C threshold, and pushing higher. Japanese moved heavily to TbO in minute proportions via GBD, small particle size, grain alignment, low O2 process, etc.
Trotting out the HRE mantra c2012 is nothing short of laughable.
Equally the warm, fuzzy view of a very tardy BEV.
