You have a couple errors in your logic.

"If the mechanism was sound for liver cancer, then some activity - any activity - would have been reported for lung cancer."

Remember, liver was a monotherapy trial. And, this lung trial was a combo w/ Taxotere. They do mention that there are 9 patients on just PI-88 that have interesting signs worth looking into further.

"The future of PI-88 as a viable drug for multiple conditions is now dead."

Wrong again. There are other trials on-going - Melanoma, Multiple Myeloma, Prostate.....but you knew this already, right?

And, if they decide to pursue a lung monotherapy trial.........???
